Hi there and welcome to my blog!
Well, I hope that you have all had a great Christmas - it has been quite hectic in my circle of family and friends... house parties, late nights, drinking, eating... you all know the rest!
However, the New Year now dawns upon us all... and a new decade too. So how have the 'naughties' treated you all?
The Millennium wasn't quite what I was expecting. New Year's Eve 1999 felt like any other New Year really, and when midnight came, and the 1 January 2000 came, there wasn't that expectantcy that anyone was expecting. The Millennium Bug didn't strike, the end of the world (that had been predicted by various cults) didn't come, and everything was 'business as usual' within a couple of days. On New Year's Eve 2001 my dad died, one day short of his 75th birthday, which was New Year's Day, so that came as a great shock, and since then, New Year celebrations haven't really been celebrated amongst my close family members. How can you celebrate on a day that one of your parents die? But life goes on, my dad taught me that, so for the younger members of my family we try and make it nice for them.
So, as I have mentioned at the beginning of my Blog... I hope all of you have had a merry Christmas, and I wish all of you a very happy, peaceful and prosperous New Year 2010!
